Spotto is the online alias of [REDACTED] who built a massive following by producing comedic automotive content across platforms including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. His videos blend car culture, humour, questionable mechanical decisions, and experiments that probably shouldn’t work, but sometimes do.

The Spotto brand originally began in late 2022 as a TikTok account called AussieCarSpotting, where [REDACTED] posted automotive memes and short videos spotting cars in public and loudly calling them out, often deliberately getting the names wrong or mocking certain cars. The videos frequently featured iconic Australian cars like Holden Commodores, Ford Falcons, and also Suzuki Jimnys, quickly resonating with car enthusiasts across the internet.

As the TikTok account grew to over 100,000 followers, [REDACTED] wanted to move beyond simple car spotting clips and appear on camera without revealing his identity. On February 2nd, 2023, Spotto was born.

To stay anonymous while creating more personality driven content, Spotto began wearing a ski mask in videos. The mask was originally black, but it was quickly replaced with the now iconic bright green ski mask less than a couple videos later, after Spotto wanted a less threatening look. He joked that “surely no one would be scared of a bloke wearing a bright green ski mask.”

With a recognisable identity established, the content began evolving rapidly. Spotto moved onto building up more personality driven content, building a collection of bright green cars, creating YouTube content, and even releasing some music tracks.

One of the first major builds was a Holden VF SS Ute, which was eventually wrapped bright green and nicknamed “Lumpstick.” The car became the channel’s flagship car and helped cement the style of future builds that Spotto is known for today.

What started as short viral TikTok videos has since grown into full YouTube productions, large scale automotive content, and even some music releases.

Today, Spotto’s content reaches millions of viewers every month, with a combined audience of over 4 million across multiple platforms. Despite the growth, the core idea remains the same: making fun automotive content that doesn’t take the car scene too seriously.
